He did a Trio album last year. It seems like between Trio albums he does side projects anyway, and there is major Matt influence and in some of these Blink songs. I really like Nine, and I like seeing bands like Blink and Jimmy making exciting new music I want to hear after being around all these years. New Menzingers has been stuck in my head a lot too. Glad these album release dates have all been spread out.
Listening to Invented right now. I hope we get some of the guitar tones from this album on Surviving.
I was struggling with literally one line 'A little ??? is all you need to end up empty' and the missing word was 'presumption'.
No it’s not. It gets a lot of love which is well deserved. Easily the most talked about CTL track, and my favourite from that album as well.
weird, I almost never see it talked about lol. I must not be paying attention. I just genuinely love that song.
People can’t shut about it. It’s great, I don’t mean to imply anything negative about it. But it comes up A LOT.
It’s a great song. A couple weeks ago people were debating if they like the album version better or the acoustic. Both are fantastic. Jimmy knows how to close an album.
Been revisiting Damage lately after not having heard it since the year it came out. Wasn’t too into it at the time but man, Book Of Love is a hell of a tune.
For years I had my mind made up that the acoustic / alternate version of "Dizzy" was far and away the better version of the song. Like it wasn't even close. No question in my mind. After talking with everyone here a little while ago I went back and really listened to the album version again and found a whole new appreciation for it. It really is amazing, and it definitely fits the album much more perfectly. I had always thought of the vocal performance from Jim in the alternate version as far superior but his vocal performance in the actual version is just as powerful, only different. I still prefer the subtly different lyrics in the alternate version because they are more profound and poetic and make more sense to me, but to me both versions are equal now and I see that they definitely made the right call in which one to go with for the album.
Man, all I keep thinkin about when I listen to this new single is how funny it's gonna be to see Robin singing Rachel Haden's parts when they perform it live, and what they're gonna do for the end (sax solo). I would assume Jim will just make it a guitar solo.
Great album closer and great choice to do it as an acoustic b side. I couldn’t pick between 23 and Dizzy as to which song is better, but we don’t really need to.
