typically, for anything released after i turned like 18 or 19, i associate albums with their release window with some exceptions. so damage is def summer, integrity blues is fall/winter, etc
I probably gravitate to JEW most in the fall or late summer. Though Clarity and Integrity Blues are great in the winter.
yeah i have a vivid memory of my first ever listen to IB on a cool fall evening walking on main st in my town getting a coffee. always in fall rotation.
Bleed American sounds good in the winter to me. I mean I’ll be honest I run their discography into the ground all year long.
Can someone put all the JEW albums in chronological order by season? We need a solid lineup that everyone (at least mostly) agrees with so it becomes canon.
clarity - winter bleed american - winter futures - late fall/early winter chase this light - spring invented - fall Damage - summer Integrity blues - fall surviving - fall

Listening to invented and bleed american today traversing around the city of Philadelphia, life is fucking great, so excited to go back home this weekend to St. Louis and listen to JEW non stop and bathe in good nostalgic feelings
Still bummed they're splitting headlining with TBS. They finally make it to Eastern WA/Northern Idaho and I have to assume the setlist will be pared down to accommodate TBS's set.
For me: Clarity: Pure winter. Late December through February. Bleed American: Very much a summer album. Plenty of big bangers for windows-down drives, and capped off by one of the great end-of-summer songs. Futures: Deep fall. Late October and November are peak Futures months. Stay on My Side Tonight: That fall-to-winter transition, when it's getting real cold and the first snows are starting to happen. Chase This Light: Probably the most seasonally fluid JEW album for me. It's a fall album for me first and foremost, because I associate it so much with the fall of 2007, but I've been known to spin it a lot in the spring and summer, too. Invented: Early fall. Kind of perfect for that "back to school" time. "Movielike," especially, will always be a beginning-of-fall song for me. Damage: Springtime. Got an advance of this one during my last week of college, so it carries all the feelings of graduation time for me. Integrity Blues: This one is kind of a mix of those early fall notes of Invented (mostly side A) and the later fall sounds of Futures (mostly side B). Surviving: Perfect October record, right up to the cover that looks kind of like a jack-o-lantern.
I have never once associated albums with seasons haha. It’s either, “is this a good driving song?” Or “is this a good song to work out to?” Everything else falls into sitting at my desk lol
Surviving for me is that classic “been training for a fall 10k and a week before I’m supposed to run it I pull my calf muscle, but my mom is running the 5k portion and I promised her I’d still go so I’m sitting in a coffee shop in Akron watching runners go by while I’m sadly sipping on a latte listening to the album for the first time when I had planned on my first time being while running the 10k.” Anyone else get that feeling?
Ending with “23” is a pro move and it makes you think why they never did it before. I loved it when they did it at their Lolla after show because they already played their biggest hits. It made their encore feel very “fan” specific.
I was hoping to have a solid point to debate with you here, but I am genuinely in lock step with all of this. Dammit. edit: Invented especially hits that early fall feel
