Damn...this charted at No. 90 on the Billboard Charts. Everything since Futures has been at least a Top 20 debut.
it’s almost like releasing an album a few weeks after announcing it is a bad idea for a band their size
Bayside had the same problem...They debuted at 109...which was by far their worst debut since self-titled in 2005. Not that this shit matters for bands like JEW and Bayside...who have pretty much both cemented their fan base at this point in their careers. But still, it's kind of jarring to see them so low in the charts.
I mean, the music industry climate is wildly different now with streaming, especially for bands like Jimmy Eat World and Bayside, whose fans I imagine are streaming music now compared to fans of bands/artists whose CDs you’ll find at your nearby Target
As someone who still buys most albums that matter to me, I appreciate that they were 9th in just album sales. Unfortunately just means so little these days
I listen to this at least once a day. It really brightens my mood. The title track is my recent favorite, though it changes every few days.
Sooo this might be weird but this is the first Jimmy Eat World album I've ever tried to get into and I fucking love it. Ya'll think I should just go backwards through their discography after this or what?
I feel like I'd go back and listen to Bleed American and then Futures and Clarity. You can't go wrong though
There's really not a bad point in their discography to go to next, except maybe self-titled and Static Prevails
Not enough autotune for this to chart anywhere It’s an old man shouting at cloud thing to say but the masses tastes are circling the shitter more than ever, it’s all wallpaper to most people
