I personally don’t hear it anywhere but my point was more toward the fan base. I thought it wasn’t held in that high of regard by most JEW fans (at least around here). I could be very wrong.
Ah gotcha. Yeah I think you're right in that regard. It's not one of my favorites but I don't hate it by any means
My Best Theory is the first song I heard from them that wasn’t The Middle so in a way it led to me being a fan
That song is definitely what got me into the band. I knew Sweetness and The Middle, but me learning how to drive coincided with my dad getting a truck with Sirius/XM, so we used to drive around and listen to Alt Nation, which played My Best Theory A LOT when it came out. They also did the premiere for Stop, and I remember begging my dad to go driving with me so we could hear the new song.
I think My Best Theory was an odd choice for a lead single because I don’t think it’s very indicative of what the rest of the album sounds like. Then again, I don’t think any one song from that album would have represented its sound well because it’s a bit all over the place when it comes to their sound.
Yeah, it's definitely not representative of the album as a whole, but Invented is so eclectic and sprawling that I agree there isn't really a song on there that DOES represent the album haha. Maybe Movielike?
Yeah, Movielike came to mind. Littlething does too, but would that have done well on the radio in 2010/2011? If somebody asked me “What does Invented sound like,” I’d show them Littlething. I think that song does a pretty good job of summing up most of the album.
MBT is easily my least favorite on invented and I think it was a really awful single choice haha. Littlething, movielike, or evidence would’ve been my picks I think. Fuck now I gotta listen to invented
My Best Theory doesn’t represent the album but it was a good single choice because it was the clear hit. I mean like I said, it’s the first song of theirs I heard since the middle because it got decent airplay
The first song I heard from them was Nothingwrong in Gran Turismo 4 soundtrack. I still like it to this day but I know that it's not a fan favorite to say the least.
What else would y'all pick as alternate singles from their albums? I've always thought Futures or Just Tonight could've had a play at rock radio at the time. And obviously Here It Goes haha
My choices for what I think could have been additional singles Clarity - For Me This Is Heaven Bleed American - Hear You Me Futures - Just Tonight... Chase This Light - Here It Goes Invented - Movielike Damage - Appreciation Integrity Blues - Through
i think any song besides heart is hard to find, invented, or mixtape would make for a great single lol
