Also mad at myself for listening to songs before the record, first album by this band I haven't waited out for. Dammit!!!

 

They are giving away the 7" at shows for everyone who preorders the album. Also selling it for $5.

 

Shit if I give someone my pre-order proof, would they pick one up and send it to me?

Getting very anxious. I listened to the new single once, but other than that, I haven't listened to any of the first two singles in well over a week. I'm ready.

 

I've listened to Get Right a few times, Sure and Certain once, and haven't listened to You With Me.

Futures and Chase This Light are in the running for my favorite albums of all time categorization, and I've only been spinning them since mid-August.

 

Im pretty excited for this release myself. Which is weird because I haven't been this excited for a JEW album in...well...never.

 

Not sure how I felt about You With Me.. that's the album opener is it?

 

Sure is. I think it's a hell of an opener!

 

"I wasn't ready to hear it so plain" - that line in You Are Free gets me every time.

 

I saw someone earlier mention Step One from the Damage recordings, and I had no idea it even existed. Usually, stuff like this doesn't slip past me, but I guess I never bothered to look into any b-sides/bonus tracks from that album.

 

I never know what makes them leave a song like that off the album itself. It's a strong track and Damage was only 10 songs

 

Listened to Get Right and Sure and Certain three-ish times each, only listened to You with Me once. I'm ready

 

"You With Me" didn't hit me completely on first listen. But damn.. I cannot stop listening now. What a song. I have no doubts about this record. Hoping we get some east coast tour dates soon too! Been too long since I've seen them.

 

"You With Me" is sooooo goood. It sounds like a Futures B-Side and I love it.

 

I don't think it sounds anything like Futures, but to each their own. I find Futures has this distinctive dark, crunchy feel to it throughout. Even the pop songs like Work have lots of chunky guitar riffs in them. You With Me sounds, to me, more like a Chase This Light-esque pop song.

 

I'd call it a cross between Futures and CTL, everyone's happy
