I feel like the majority of this forum has the album already. Surprised it hasn't leaked, but not surprised if the watermark is more efficient than they used to be.
Not just that but it's a stream they sent out so its hard to leak it. It's rare for a label to send out MP3s anymore.
Kinda bums me out that baby and get right would be separated. I feel like they flow into each other very well
i think Get Right is great. i like it a lot more than Pain so if that ends up being my least favourite ill be very happy.
Really? I think that transition is the most awkward part of the album. I think having them split up will make it much better.
I'm nervous the hype of this will lead to a let down for me. Futures one of my top five favorite Albums of all time. I've heard so much about how if you're a Futures fan, you'll be a fan of this. I'm holding it to high expectations now haha. CTL was good. Invented still hasn't clicked with me and Damage has a few awesome tracks. Get Right is the only track that reminds me of Futures so far. Are You Free seems alright, hopefully it grows. Fingers crossed with the rest of the album.
I mean, it's not better than Futures, so don't expect that. But it reminds me of that vibe. And that's a top five record for me, too.
Yeah there isn't anything quite as great as Kill or 23 on IB, but it's still very very good and will be a perfect fall album.
Yeah, there's not really *that* song on here for me, like those two, "Dizzy," or "Invented." But there's also nothing I don't really care for.
Heard "Sure and Certain" on the big Chicago alt radio station yesterday (between Papa Roach and Linkin Park, of course), which was pretty cool. It would be awesome if they had a bit of a resurgence of mainstream popularity with this album.
I just don't think Sure and Certain is catchy enough to be honest. I love the song but... I think JEW are making music for their fans now, and they wont be hitting the mainstream again. Sure Taylor Swift and Frances Cobain will have brought a few new fans over but not enough to make them hit big.
Obviously "The Middle" was the band's biggest single. Is JEW considered a one hit wonder to non-fans?
I think that transition is actually really good. I think all the songs transition well, actually I've heard sure & certain on the radio twice or thrice. I got unreasonably excited every time
I don't think so. The Middle was obviously their big one, but many people know Sweetness and even Pain.
They definitely are, although I bet a lot of those same people would be able to at least hum along to a handful of songs from Bleed and Futures even if they can't remember the titles or lyrics.
Right. People who listen to the radio probably know those ones well enough, but were those other songs covered on Kids Bop like "The Middle" was? Haha.
Work got a lot of play on music channels in the UK in '05. Do any songs transition seemlessly liek pain -> drugs or me does on Futures (on the new album htat is)? Where there's no gap and the noise just carries through to the next track. Love when that happens. Edit: The fuck is wrong with my spelling?
