I've only ever listened to Clarity in full, and of course I love it, so I'm going to clock their whole discography before this one is released. Clarity's one of my favorite albums, but I felt like the others didn't stand a chance of living up to it for some reason and never ventured further into their work.
This was me with Manchester Orchestra : I'm Like A Virgin Losing a Child. You're gonna be glad you dove in.
Clarity Damage Bleed American = Futures Chase This Light Invented Static Prevails (After the post @KennedyBN made in the Jommy Eat World thread I keep meaning to go bs k and revisit Invented so this may change)
Alright alright alright Futures Clarity Chase This Light Bleed American Invented Damage Static Prevails Love em all though.
1. Invented 2. Futures (Both in my top ten of all time) 3. Bleed American 4. Clarity 5. Chase This Light 6. Damage 7. Static Prevails 8. Jimmy Eat World
Clarity Bleed American Futures Damage Chase This Light Invented Static Prevails Bleed American is honestly close to tying Clarity for my favorite. I feel like I like that one and Damage more than most JEW fans.
Futures Clarity Chase This Light Bleed American Damage Invented Static Prevails JEW edit: thinking about it I might even swap Damage and Bleed American. I like Damage a lot more than most people, it seems.
I'll join in – Futures Clarity Chase This Light Invented Bleed American Damage Static Prevails Futures is my clear favorite, and Static Prevails is my obvious last (though I still enjoy it) and everything in the middle is super close.
You hurt me with Clarity so low I didn't realize you hated that album and therefore hate me wow what a day
People with Damage so low need to clean your ears out and go listen again! Damage is the best example of a band aging well. It's a breakup album without the teenage angst. It's heartbreak, it's regret, it's grown up is what it is. People call it a grownup breakup record and it is in the best sense. It also is one of their more unique outings, "You Were Good" is their most underrated closer. Instead of going for another huge expansive closer, they went for the subdued bitter sweetness of "You Were Good". Seriously spend some more time with it if you haven't. And if you have and still don't like it...... I hate you and you are wrong!
Yeah, I think this is the right time for me to finally get into these guys. Saw them open for Green Day in 05', I have a hazy memory of them being great!
Futures Clarity Bleed American Chase This Light Invented Damage Static Prevails Although I'm getting the feeling that I maybe swap BA and CTL now. Hell, some days I think CTL could be my number two.
Why do so many people have Invented so low? I really love that album! Maybe it just hit me at the right time. My wife and I had just got married and did a four hour drive twice a week together to get from where we were going to school to my job in Ohio and that album just worked for that time. Great road trip songs. Plus, I really like the closers (Invented and Mixtape)
Haha, other than Clarity being both our number ones, our lists are almost polar opposite. But the crazy thing about JEW, is that I still like at your list and think "hmm, nice"... That's how good this bands discography is
