I could be wrong but I think they played it when I saw them on the Futures 10th Anniversary tour. EDIT: Yup Jimmy Eat World Setlist at Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel, Providence
That EP is probably my favorite style of Jimmy, bummed it was only an EP because those songs are fuckin FIRE
The new songs and getting to go see them this summer has launched me into an obsessive JEW kick over the last week or so, and I have to say, Jimmy Eat World is definitely a desert island discography contender for me. What a fucking catalog.
This band is all I've been listening to lately. Trying to choose a favorite album is hard but I think CTL might take the cake I am so fucking mad at myself it's taken me this long for them to click though
Picked up Futures on vinyl today. Really wanted to get that Stay By me EP or whatever it's called but it was almost 30 bucks . Can't swing that for five tracks no matter how damn good they are
As soon as I heard CTL, I was blown away. It's my fave, for sure. Bleed American has more "familiarity" in it...but CTL just lands harder with me. I'm glad you're diving in finally. Better late than never!
I don’t post here a lot, I just like to lurk. But I had to pop in to say they played Thinking, That’s All tonight in Tulsa and it was fucking awesome.
I was hoping he would but unfortunately there was no screaming. Just aggressively singing? Haha, he looked like he was having a blast though.
There's a GREAT studio recording of Thinking, That's All from 2004 with no screaming. Would love to see it live.
It was from a studio session they did in Canada after Futures came out. I don't have the recording anymore though (hard drive failure), and it's nowhere to be found on the internet unfortunately.
Prior to this tour JEW did ask "what songs would you like to hear in your city?". Seems like they took that serious and are playing some fan favorite per location. That's gotta be exciting for them too.
People complain JEW setlists are too standard but i think they do a good job of getting the favorites in there, throwing in the new album cuts, and tossing in a couple deep cuts here and there. There's not a set list they could come up with that would disappoint me
Morning drive in the rain to this and the end is beautiful is sticking out in a way it never has before. absolute stunner
