Love Never's nice but pretty safe. Definitely in the vein of Get Right and that in its solidity. half heart, on the other hand, utterly beautiful
These songs are really good, half heart in particular. Since they dropped two at once/a 7” I’m definitely thinking they’re b-sides and not a prelude to a new album but I’d really like to be proven wrong.
My dude. Digits is the shit. The last soft bridge with "under cushions hide the change" is easily one of the most emotionally powerful they ever did (not a small claim with these guys)
yeah i mean theyve definitly got that IB feel to them as well but IB has a lot of CTL and Future in it to me. idk i just rly enjoy both songs a lot, i think Love Never is my favorite of the two
I'm actually partial to Love Never because it's maybe the most CTL song they've released since CTL, but Half Heart is great too.
Yeah I remember seeing that he was in the studio with them a few months back. I wonder if these are just leftovers from the IB writing sessions that they just decided to record. I'm pumped, these tracks are great.
My relationship with Jimmy Eat World is weird. I absolutely love Clarity, Bleed American, and Futures. Everything after that, I would say I only "like." However, I will immediately buy tickets to see them every chance I get, and I'll even sing along to all the post Futures stuff like they're my favorite songs in the world, haha. But yeah, I only listen to those 3 albums regularly. I listen to a few of their other ones randomly but I have to be in a very specific mood to go through the rest of their catalog.
this cycle has been so good. on top of giving us one of their best albums, we get two years straight of nonstop touring, the acoustic ep, and these two new songs. they also seem happier than ever to be a band. after damage i was thinking they'd start to wind down, but i don't get that impression at all anymore.
for some reason the official videos for these songs are nice as well, I like them more than any IB videos.
