Butch is probably my favorite artist ever, or at least right up there with Springsteen. JEW is a strong third. They rarely seem to release albums in the same year, so this is exciting for me. Bruce has my all-time number 1. Butch is 2, JEW is 3.
It's always weird when I listen to one of these "classic albums" for the first time and there's a song like The Middle on it, where I've heard it a million times and know all the words already haha. Pretty good so far though, not what I expected at all, this song after The Middle is a cool switch up.
Did people get an email about this? I signed up for their email thing yesterday but didn't receive anything.
Intro to Get It Faster is pretty out there. Loving the diversity on this album, like I said, not what I expected at all.
That was a good listen, favorite tracks (other than the ones I'd heard) were Bleed American, If You Don't, Don't, and My Sundown. Feel like there aren't a lot of bands that sound like this right now. Alt rock bands tend to lean into the pop side of radio rock (say, Twenty One Pilots, Imagine Dragons, etc) or the "harder rock" side (idk, Foo Fighters I guess?) This fits comfortably in the middle somewhere, it's not really pop punk but it's very catchy radio rock with interesting guitar and drums. Thanks @Zac Djamoos for the rec. Any thoughts (from anyone) on where I should go next?
Glad you liked it! Those are some of my favorites too. I'd say it depends on what you liked more about bleed - the pop or the darker more alternative stuff. For the pop: Chase this light. For the darker: futures I think it's their most varied. My fourth favorite as well tho Duh. I should've known Bruce
Clarity > Futures > Bleed American > Invented > Damage > Chase This Light > Static Sorry, someone had to
