i like this, don't love it though, at least not yet. aside from Futures it has always taken me about a year or so to really enjoy / like their work (aside from Damage and Invented which will never be liked). probably still third or fourth on my list for their albums, although no individual songs that i love.
JEW played Pass The Baby live on BBC Sessions. Sounded awesome. Made me appreciate the song a lot more than I already did. The ending reminds me so much of Rage Against The Machine.
I haven't been able to keep up with the thread since the release, but I'm in love with this album. The opening track is so damn catchy!
Great description. Album was worth avoiding this thread for a while, as well not hearing anything other than the first two songs released. Hope I can end up loving this more than the last three like some others have
I like this album and still need some time with it, listening to lyrics and such. I dont understand the hate for invented or damage cus those albums are bomb af
jimmy eat world is a heck of a tired band all in their 40s and still try to act like highschool bros and thats why this record is realy stale and flat aside from 1 or 2 interesting song old tired band right there pass the baby would of been good if it was a whole song , to just have the hard part this short takes away from it sounds like a tease
gave it another listen coming back yesterday. easily like the back half better than the front half, record ends really well. there's just a lot of melodic clunkers for me here which is kind of a bummer. think it has potential to grow but right now it's probably not even close to my top half of JEW record favorites hoping seeing them live energizes the record for me
Might be 5th or 6th in their discog for me but it's still a really good album. Doesn't touch Damage though.
Enjoying it more than anything since Futures. Probably my 4th favourite album of theirs, Pretty Grids and Pass The Baby are the only two songs I'm struggling to love (despite everyone else seeming to).
I think this is gonna sit at #2 or #3 in their catalog for me. IMO, this is a benchmark record for them at this point in their career.
