It's cause Zac is like 12 years old that he doesn't like 23. Still along way till he'll be 23. He still loves what he'll never have, he still lives in his regrets.
this made me laugh tremendously and probably contains a lot of truth to it (i.e. think the song has more impact as you get close to 23 years old and then each years beyond)
This is more general JEW news but: Speak Low If You Speak Love (State Champs) covers Jimmy Eat World’s “Kill”—listen - News - Alternative Press Not bad.
Yep, Futures is my number one (and might honestly be in my top 10-15 albums of all time) and CTL my number two. Futures was the album that really got me into the band, and I was legitimately afraid to delve into their other material after I heard it (I didn't hear it until about 2 years ago) because I thought their was no way their other albums could live up. Thankfully, this band is phenomenal, and although Futures is still my favorite I enjoy all of their releases.
I would put this up there too. If I had to rank... 1. Futures 2. Clarity 3. Integrity Blues 4. Bleed American 5. Chase This Light 6. Invented 7. Damage 8. Static Prevails
Futures i think is for sure a top 10 favorite album (although it's been a long, long time since i even thought of reviewing such a list) but i wouldn't put the band in a list of my top 10 favorite bands (not that i know what that looks like either).
my list right now, without IB listed, would be: 1. Futures 2. Chase This Light 3. Bleed American 4. Clarity 5. Invented 6. Damage with Integrity Blues hovering between spots 3 and 4 currently.
car test: PASSED. had a huge grin on my face the entire time (except those moments where I was holding back tears haha)
Was tough for me to put Chase This Light so low since I love that record so much. But that streak of records between Clarity and CTL is just too phenomenal. So tough to rank.
This record is absolutely incredible. It captures that perfect fall sound that few records do (Moving Mountains S/T, for reference). Somber but super powerful and explosive.
I didn't come around on Futures until recently. When I was a kid I had a thing against "slow song" because I found them boring. But man, was I ever wrong. Put the CD in my car a couple months ago and fell in love with Polaris, The World You Love, 23, Drugs or Me, etc.
"Polaris" is just a stunning song. The bridge! I'm done, there's nothing left to show I try but can't let it go Are you happy where you're standing still? Do you really want the sugar pill? I'll wake up tomorrow and I'll start Tonight it feels so hard As the train approaches Gare Du Nord As I'm sure your kiss remains employed Am I only dreaming?
This record is sooooo good. Really blown away by it. The end of "Pass the Baby" gave me serious chills and I had a smile from ear to ear as I listened is disbelief.
