I LOVE this one!!! Such a relief after not being very into Get Right. Hoping the album is more in this vein.
JEW, Bon Iver, Owen... Man if Third Eye Blind actually puts out an EP this year it will officially be death by music boner
JEW is my favorite band. All Get Out is in my top 5 or 6. Two Door Cinema Club is in my top 15ish. Between October 21 and 28, all three of those bands drop albums. I have no idea what I'm even supposed to be listening to or how I'm supposed to divvy up my time so each record gets the time it deserves. It's a wonderful problem to have, but it's definitely a real one lol.
So I cranked Sure and Certain 3 times while driving to lunch and back, and it's officially a lights out track. Even the Youtube rip sounded unreal cruising down the highway. I see what you all mean about the heavier sound too, something about this is sounding like Futures 2.0 and I'm at half mast already.
Wow, I never saw that. When I saw the 3, I shivered. I will say though, honest to God, when Futures came out, I wasn't into it at ALL. I remember being severely disappointed. It took me a few months to truly enjoy it. It's now one of my favorite records of all-time.
There's a few notes in the bridge where there is this guitar feedback that rings on. My car's speakers happen to pick up on that frequency really noticeably and it completely ruins the song. Very unpleasant. I wish they had mixed out the feedback. It's not so bad on headphones though. Edit: Also I don't like the snare roll that leads into the last, rocking part of the bridge. Seems completely unnecessary. Nitpicking aside, the song is great. Edit 2: God damnit, now I can't unhear those squeals of feedback, even in headphones. Why do I ruin songs for myself by focusing on these things?
