Honestly one of the most consistent bands out there. They haven't released a bad album yet. Great single. Can't wait for the album.
lyric-video reminds me of the movie sinister. creeps me the fuck out. besides that... interesting single. quite the dark sound.
The song is OK. I just realized that I haven't been enthusiastic about a Jimmy single since maybe Big Casino. I didn't even like Pain a whole lot and Futures ended up being one of my all time favorite albums.
We all thought Yellowcard was a rough breakup. I'm gonna be way more devastated when JEW calls it quits.
It's a good jam, and the lyric video isn't bad. It didn't pack quite as hard of a punch as I was hoping for, but hey I'm sure there will be more to come. Also @Fox83 Big Casino was stellar, I agree. Solid single and solid way to lead off an album. Side note, am I the only person who gets very distracted by lyric videos? Whether the lyric video is good or bad, it always seems to divide my attention between what I'm listening and what I'm seeing - which I'm not sure why so many musicians put out lyric videos for that very reason. I've found that when I go back and listen to a song, minus the lyric video, I enjoy it a lot more. I dunno, am I alone in this way of thinking?
Sweet Jesus this is fantastic. It's just stunning how these dudes never miss. October 21 can't get here soon enough!!
Yeah I'm definitely not a fan of lyric videos, and when I saw that that's what it was I minimized the window and just listened. Whenever I'd read along to lyrics while I'd listen to a song the first time back in the days of me looking at CD booklets, I'd always kinda anticipate the melody in my head and when that's never how it actually sounded I'd be disappointed (even though most of the time the actual melody is way better than whatever bullshit I thought up). So yeah, I definitely don't want to see lyrics before I hear a song or during the process of my initial listening. Just throws me off. Still though, I suppose they're wayyyyy cheaper and easier than making an actual music video. I'd imagine that's why they've kinda become the norm.
Someone said this sounds like Futures era Jimmy, which is can kind of hear. If this is how they go, I'd be fucking delighted, and not surprised, considering they just toured the anniversary of that album a year or two ago.
The YouTube video isn't available in Canada so I don't have the pleasure of seeing this Sinister-esque lyric video, but the download on the website is much appreciated. I really like this. This is a band whose discog I've been meaning to check out, so imma do that throughout the next month.
Sounds like a cross between Futures and Invented. Great track, it got me really hyped for their new record.
Anyone else not like that snare sound? Other than that, pretty cool, not the best but glad to hear them again.
