Wow, instantly one of her best songs was not what I was expecting

 

I have never heard of this person before but wooow that song is amazing!!! I am very much on board

 

Can’t wait, been listening to On Your Own Love Again lately

Welp. That’s one of the best songs of the year. Feels instantly timeless.

 

I just listened to the singles and this is going to be awesome. Never listened before but I am all in.

 

Even more excited for this than I already was. Though Pitchfork seems to be handing out BNM left and right lately.

 

Feel like there are waves and dry spells. When was the last time they awarded a Best New Track? I’m sure some of this has to do with the firings from Condé Nast.

 

World on a String is beautiful.


This reminds me so much of a song I’ve been trying to find for over a year now. Not sure if this will aid me in that search, but at least now I have someone to compare it to!

feels like the BNM being so frequent is three fold - a lot of great music this year, less writers, and CN trying to drive up clicks

 

Yeah looks like last Best New Track was way back at beginning of March, so yeah a bit of a dry spell for those.

But looking at BNM so far this year it’s been over 20, which compared to previous years, seems like a ton for only being 4 months into the year. Not saying it’s a bad thing, just feel like every week now there’s a BNM haha.

I adore it. It’s got this rich ethereal quality and just gets better with each listen. Plus it’s pretty much the perfect length - if anything I could use one or two more tracks!

 

I think this is the best album of the year.

 

My most listened to album since last Friday for sure. It was also directly responsible for a very pleasant nap on Sunday afternoon lol
