Jessica Lea Mayfield - Sorry Is Gone (9/29/17; ATO)

New album on 9/29 and I'll die on the hill for Make My Head Sing being one of 2014's most underrated records. Discuss amongst yourselves

 

Saw her open for Tegan and Sara in Cleveland in 2014 but never really gave any full album listens.

I might be going to see Mal Blum open for her in October so better late than never.

This song sounds pretty great. Will try some of her other stuff and keep an eye out for more singles/the new one to drop.

 

TBH I've only heard her last one but it's great! It's alt-country but w/ grunge touches, very cool

Good interview, she’s been through so much terrible shit so I’m hoping this album brings her success and she can find peace

 

This record is so good, I hope opening for Mitski gets her a bigger audience

 

Also reading about her abuse has made Make My Head Sing much harder to listen to, especially w/r/t lyrical content and knowing his fingerprints are all over it
