Sorry I’ll break it down for you.

I visit this site for info about bands like FOB, Paramore, and Trio. Regardless of how popular TSwift posts are, I assumed most visitors were in the same boat as me. But I’ll wait at the edge of my seat to find out how I’m wrong.

  2. I already told you you're wrong ...? I don't understand why you're still asking?

Go look in the music forum, the two Taylor Swift threads TV/Midnights are very popular! You are in the minority.

Why do people get so weird about people liking pop music?

    Please find
A minority of visitors think this is a site focusing mainly on emo/alt/rock. Got it.

For the record, I like Taylor Swift. But mostly because she likes Pete Wentz’s lyrics. I was third row at her concert, and had a wonderful time.

  6. No, a (vast) minority of visitors "aren't interested in" Taylor Swift. Stop just changing what you said because reality doesn't match.

And I write about a lot of pop music! Have for 25 years!

Please show me what changed? I have said Taylor posts don’t fit with the general vibe of this site and my assumption is that most people would agree.
You coming at me with these analytics is ridiculous. As a user of your site, I’m telling you this is my perception.

  8. Sorry the data gets in the way of your feelings.

I thought you were going to tell me how I changed my point to fit reality. Don’t be rude now!

The hate on the neighbourhood is nonsense as is hate for any band just because people don't like the fans (and it's normally when teenage girls are involved).

All the neighbourhoods stuff is good, especially the chip chrome era.

This sounds good for the genre it is too.

What even is your point? Haha I'm so lost.... You can be genuine, but also calculated, and you can be talented and also good at marketing.

You can be innovative while still being within the framework of 'pop music' that already exists.

You can make 'capitalistic gains' while still being authentic.

You thought because this was a site with punk roots, that we all still hate popular music just because it's popular? Most people like pop-punk and other genres because it's catchy and relatable, something that Taylor Swift absolutely does not have amiright?

    Nope, not what I said.

  14. A quick look at the forums is enough to prove you wrong. I've been checking this site on a daily basis since 2008 and vividly remember the discussions I've read and even had about pop artists for more than a decade. Maybe you just didn't pay attention all this time?

I don’t refute that. I stated my opinion and got attacked with straw man arguments about me hating Taylor Swift or that my perception simply couldn’t be, given the popularity of certain threads. I’m surprised about the backlash my comment had but of course I understand that other ideas are discussed here. Lately I’ve enjoyed the birdwatching thread. I don’t know what else to say, it feels like this back and forth has been exhausted.
