I’m just curious as a forever blink fan where they talk about selling out like this? I was just watching an interview post enema where Tom says they never succumb to these pressures and always stay true to themselves… that their poppier elements were never trying to cater to MTV, blah blah blah… It doesn’t bother me either way, because can’t we just stop at the basic idea that art is subjective whether you are Taylor or alone in your bedroom??

Can you imagine if corporations could spawn Taylor Swifts at will and we still had the music industry in the shape it's in now? You'd think there'd be a LOT more money in labels if they got together to make the biggest pop star in history every once in a while

Lol, right? I know of many, many country artists who have tried to follow the Taylor Swift playbook, and no one has ever gotten even remotely close.

She is THE biggest musical artist in the world. There is no qualifier. Of course she gets covered.

  5. Travis's book. Mark's podcast about WMAA. It's everywhere? The singles from the album after Enema are wildly known to be written by "those pressures" and to "cater to MTV."

Yeah, I go after the corporate Blink just as hard. You can look up a comment I made about rumors of Blink bringing in Lil Uzi and Pharrel for an upcoming album. One of my few comments on here. Particularly go after Travis hard. I meant when Enema of the State took off, I was happy for them. And kept supporting them. And when the full on corporate garbage of Nine dropped, I was outspoken about that too. And again, tht example wasnt even necessary if you ahd reading comprehension skills, as my initial post defended Turnstiles great success.

I knew yall would resort to calling me sexist, a pretty serious charge against me. A cheap shot. Yall are lashing out because I called yall out with the Swift example in my OG post. Thats why you can only focus on the example I gave and not the rest or substance.

Thank goodness for this great defender of music authenticity. When, I wonder, is the knighting ceremony?

You do you man. And ill think you are embarrassing, and you wont care what I think and I wont care that you dont care what I think! Take care

  12. I think a grown ass human complaining about selling out and not knowing how to use an apostrophe is more embarrassing. Just me though.

    Please forgive me!

And take it or leave it but I don’t think your average user cares about the music you love @Jason Tate . They care about the genres that tend to be posted about on this site. As long as the trend continues, people like myself will continue to visit. If it strays too much, they won’t. But I’m glad to get my monthly reminder of how you interact with others on the internet.

You can have perfect grammar, use huge words, and still have no substance. You can have spelling errors, grammatical errors, slang and be utterly brilliant. Another cheap shot, and pretentious.

And again, ill say this slowwwwwwwly. Its not about selling out, its about algorithmically creating music to maximize profits for their fatcat industry ppl.

You literally told me, the person that writes and created this website from nothing, that made it up in my head, that something I write about (that is exceptionally popular on this website!) doesn't fit the website I made. What you said was rude as hell! You don't get to then pretend that me responding to it is a "reminder of how I interact with others." You wrote it! And I'm going to respond to someone being rude. And the genres I post about are the bands and music I love! I've been doing it for literally 25 years! It's literally what I do every single morning. It's the only litmus test for what I write about: do I like it and find it interesting to share with other people.

Before yall go crazy and struggle with reading comprehension I dont think im being utterly brilliant. The wording is meant to juxtapose "no substance", and this thought applies to any pretentious person who makes this tired comment.

Im sure you will not get it even after explaining, but all I can do is try my hardest!

All those words and the guy never once made a compelling argument for Taylor Swift *checks notes* "algorithmically creating music to maximize profits for their fatcat industry ppl." Literally the entire reason she's a once-in-a-lifetime level star is how personal her songs are.

You’re out here nitpicking grammatical errors but me stating an opinion about pop music differing from the typical genres discussed on this site is rude as hell. Got it.

  21. Both are rude! I was trying to be rude when I was making fun of the "integrity god."

Pop music doesn't differ from the typical genres discussed here, it's one of the main genres discussed here! Taylor's threads are more popular than the last Fall Out Boy album thread! The last Paramore thread! Like 10x the Alkaline Trio thread. Her albums are all over all the staff best of year/decade/everything lists and have been going back to the AP.net days. She says Pete Wentz is her favorite lyricist! She's extremely typical "this website."

It’s like 10000 emo bands when all you need is a pop star. Isn’t it ironic?

Based on this VERY logical rebuttal of my opinion, if anyone asks if I know a good website based solely on their love of Taylor Swift, my response will be, “Boy do I have the site for you!”

    Keep trying to be rude.

  25. Ok. I can't tell what you're even trying to say in your post.
