Last night was probably the best I've ever seen Jeff apart from the final BTMI show. Setlist was something like:

    Wave goodnight to me
    I'm serious I'm sorry
    Hey Allison
    Pash Rash
    To Be A Ghost
    Nausea
    Festival song
    Beers again alone

Then the ENTIRE back section of worry, from Pietro through the end. Could not believe this happened.

Then closed with You in Weird Cities and encored with Teenager and a Clash song. It was absolutely ridiculous, crowd knew every word to all the new songs.

It was also so god damn refreshing to have all three bands seriously address the shit that has been happening recently. I've been to two other shows since the election (brand new/front bottoms/mobo, and Frankie cosmos) and at those shows NONE of the bands even mentioned it. Not even in passing. It was weird. But here it just felt great to be around a clearly supportive group of people that felt so inclusive and warm.

I've never seen him, Menzingers, or Rozwell live. What a tour that is going to be. I LOVE this album. Cannot wait to hear songs from it live.

Man, just casually browsing through this thread and absolutely flabbergasted that I never fucking clocked Jeff was in ASOB. I used to absolutely rinse those guys when I was in my years long Ska phase when I was younger. Never been able to get into BTMI or his other solo stuff but finding that out gave me a completely new outlook on his music now. Giving the new album a blast and loving it so far.

I still haven't seen a solo show from him, though one of the times I saw BTMI was one of those tours where it was him by himself

if you're still interested in getting into BTMI, working backwards isn't a bad idea with them if you aren't into the more lofi quality of the first few albums. Get Warmer through Vacations is generally more accessible.

"It’s nearly an hour before Rosenstock takes the stage in Brooklyn, and some kids in front of me are getting down to a Radiohead song about the end of the world. “Ice age coming, ice age coming/ Throw it on the fire, throw it on the fire."

Pretty sure that was me and my friend haha

this record continues to get better and better for me, especially after the show. compared to we cool? which hit me immediately and sort of fell off for me throughout the year (though it's still great, and it being at the beginning of the year didn't help), this has been a quick and steady grower that recently has been hitting me very very hard. probably my favorite record he's been involved in at this point, even over vacation

Agreed with this sentiment. We Cool? was an immediate direct hit for me and maintained regular rotation pretty much all of last year. I definitely like WORRY. at first but the more I've gone through it, the more I've found to like. Could end up rounding out my top 3 for the year along with the White Album and Goodness.

Yeah, I like this better than We Cool? but I think it's cause it feels more like his own. We Cool? felt like it really filtered his influences down

We Cool just didn't feel very cohesive to me. I always felt like Jeff was great at delivering full album products. Vacation was the culmination of everything that BTMI did, and We Cool didn't have that same impact. This album is back on track

Cohesive sonically or lyrically? Bc I do think he does the former for the most part
I have a friend who deleted We Cool? after deciding there was too much Weezer there

I listened to part of this once and then forgot about it but then tonight I remembered that I should listen to this before the end of the year and fuck me its skyrocketed to top 10 for sure. I might still prefer We Cool? but I had a lot more time with that one than this one so that will probably change.

I gotta say, and I know this is probably sacrilege at this point, but I definitely prefer the front half as of right now. The back half is cool as a long song with interesting twists and turns and all, but the first 9 songs or so are better.

Blast Damage Days is such a good song, that was the standout to me on first listen besides festival song which I'd jammed before

With some time now I definitely like this more than We Cool? and Blast Damage Days is probably a top 5 ever Jeff song for me.

Ya if Blast Damage Days had been the closer I wouldve been fine with that although again I do enjoy the back half.

the back half of the record is the best part of the whole thing and one of the best "songs" of the year

60 Years Old/I Did Something Weird.., and Blast Damage Days are my favorites. The back half is astounding though.
