I've heard the term "crust punk" like four times this past week, and I still just don't want to know what it means.
^That's exactly where I'm at. I love this but We Cool is so infectious and I get those songs stuck in my head all the time. These are great, important, interesting songs, but it's not quite as instantly catchy. He really swung for the fences here though and it shows and I'm sure it will grow on me.
I wasn't hugely into Jeff's other projects, and I liked but didn't love 'We Cool?', but this record is hitting me pretty hard right now.
The first time I listened to this album I streamed it on Bandcamp, which leaves like a second of silence in between songs and I didn't really notice how the second half is supposed to work as some epic multi-song piece. But this album is so good. Can't wait until I sit and read through the lyrics while listening closely.
Got my album. Jeff dedicates it to Eric Garner, Freddie Gray and all victims of violence, which was great to see
it got stereogum aotw v possible he gets a review, i saw cohen talking about how much he likes the record on twitter, but it wouldnt be the first time they ignore something like this (see: every other rosenstock album lol)
This could be my 3rd favorite Jeff related release behind Vacation and Adults. We Cool was good, but a bit of a step down. This is on par with his best work. Find new things to love with every listen
While You're Alive might be my new favorite. This...could be his strongest album. Which is insane for me to think about
Yes loving While You're Alive. The songs message is very true. Went through Bomb discography this past week, and loving it. The lyrics, and eclectic instrumentation is really up my alley. The horn sections esp on Get Warmer. I listened to Vacation on a drive to my aunts house out in the country, and the whole album in general was just vibing with me. In short I love Jeff.
This makes me so happy. Every Jeff album means so much to me and I love to see people discovering Bomb and loving it. Worry is insanely good.
