got weirdly happy when the ska upstrokes started happening on Rainbows. The final stretch of this thing is a ripper.
Listening to this and reading along with the lyrics at work and I'm absolutely floored. Man, what a fucking record.
Albums like this always strike a major chord with me. Sprawling guitar rock albums usually change my life.... Say Anything- is a Real Boy Titus Andronicus- The Monitor Car Seat Headrest- Teens of Denial Jeff Rosenstock- Worry.
Listened to this on a whim and it's shockingly great. A few too many songs but I'll definitely be coming back to it.
If you're shocked by how good this is, plz go back and listen to every BTMI album. I'm super happy this is apparently catching on here. Old Jeff/Bomb threads felt like the same small group gushing over him. Hopefully this blows up
This, exactly. Start with Vacation, which is the most immediately accessible record in his discography, and work your way backwards. Plus, every album is FREE on Quote/Unquote, so there's really no excuse not to listen.
We Cool is great, this is great. Bomb's production values make the releases hard for me to listen to, but the songwriting is great, of course.
It's one of those things that we should have seen coming, but when it happened everything was joy. Hope we get more from them soon. I ran back through BTMI/Fake Problems/Jeff/Antarctigo recently and it's astonishing how solid everything is
i genuinely think their songwriting got so much better once they started working together. really brought out the pop songwriting sensibilities from both of them
I want more Antartigo with both of their vocals on it. I have zero qualms with the band having Chis be the singer, but those few times that Jeff's voice comes in.... really works well together
This album is sooo much better than I could have ever dreamed of! October just flung me like 3 of my top 10 AOTY and AGO hasn't even come out yet!
