Love AV, excited. Wonder if maybe this time around there's some Jeff on main vocals/guitar but it'll be cool either way
I just got done seeing them at a local record store by my school. He came out into the crowd and played the trumpet during the "When I listen to your tunes it’s like I’m there with you" part of You, In Weird Cities. It was such an intimate experience being in that small venue. He absolutely killed it.
he just released what might be the best album of his career so he can take a breather but i can't help but remember the last time he put up a surprise single was right before he announced worry so like while this is probably a b side or something im still gonna perk my ears up. i like this
From his insta: Some thoughts: This song was written while listening to a tough vomit sesh in an alley in Leeds, while preparing for a particularly nauseating ferry ride to Ireland and in a garage/green room in Reno, NV. I don't write a lot while I'm on tour, but having been away for most of the last two years I wanted to give it a shot. So I gave myself an annoying challenge. Whatever the first ten songs I wrote on tour would become the next record, for better or worse. If they were bad I'd fix em later. I got about seven songs in when my rental car was broken into at Asian Man Fest in San Francisco and my notebook and digital recorder got stolen. This was recorded shortly after we finished WORRY., so it's the only complete song that survived the batch. As I'm waiting to board our flight to Europe to play rockin shows for THOUSANDS OF FANS (please?) it only seemed appropriate to post this apartment recording of an ode to the things that knock you out when your body is tired but your brain is an anxious idiot. See y'all on the other side. -- Jeff
oooh i like that idea a lot wow yeah go jeff hell yeah but also sad he got robbed because that seems to happen to him a lot
I think this was just referring to that one time he got robbed, with the gofundme and all that. Not that he got robbed again. I do hope he continues with that idea though, sounds like it would be a really cool/interesting songwriting experiment.
oh my b, gotcha. yeah, same, would love to hear that experiment, and in fact would love to hear it something like twice. once for the initial effect and once to see if he gets the hang of writing in that particular way
Been listening to Modest Mouse a lot these past few months, so the sigle title came at the right time. This magnificent bastard can release music as often as he wants.
About to stroll down my back alley and see Jeff play, have only heard this a couple times but I suspect I'll be listening tons after this
