Polyvinyl folks on Twitter said it'll be on Spotify first thing tomorrow, might be the case for Apple Music too, since it's a holiday
This probably won't be on streaming sites for a bit, Friday at the earliest. Edit: nvm I'm wrong haha
"So where can you go when the troubles inside you Make your limbs feel like they’re covered in lead? How can you solve all the problems around you When you can’t even solve the ones in your head?"
This really sums up the last two solo albums, trying to reconcile the internal with the external when both are fucked
Already listened to it 6 times in a row - so cohesive and incredible - a damn great follow up to worry and exactly what we need heading into 2018
This man is a great fuckig artist, and I love this record already. Worry was such a substantial album. I’m glad he’s still switching things up. Only just had my first listen, and I’m hopeful this will come to streaming services.
Obviously I’m very excited to have a new record by my favorite artist, no matter what it was I would have been happy. But I’m particularly happy that this is the album we got next from him. As always, Jeff has an uncanny ability to capture/soundtrack specific moments of my life. This feels like such a vital 2018 album already. So much of it is about starting over or trying to not think about the past or getting through bullshit that you can’t change. It being released on New Years only makes these themes hit even harder right now.
i like the little bit of political content we get like, its not really outright stated but that closer definitely feels like its directed squarely at a certain political party.
This too, but also when it gets overtly political it leads to some of the best lyrics on the album. “After the tape leaked I searched for answers. Accountability. All I discovered gave me Fever sweats from the inside out It made me cold from the inside out. It’s not like any other job I know. If you’re a piece of shit they don’t let you go”
