Been listening to a of Jazz this year, but mostly classics. Now digging into some new stuff. These two have been Guardian Jazz albums of the months recently. I enjoy them both, but especially Strange Heavens.

I also went through this list and found some stuff I think I will enjoy, but haven't listened properly yet, so no specific recommendations as of yet from me.

I'm currently listening to Strange Heavens. I'm like two songs in but I can see the appeal for sure

 

This is great. Jazz covers of hip hop classics, but done properly and not just jazz musicians playing the sample over and over for 3 minutes. These tracks sprawl into their own thing and it works so well.

 

Listened to this earlier, very impressed with it.

This is great. Nice mix of modern UK jazz and some classic jazz fusion. May be the best thing he's done.

 

Saw him live last year; great stuff.
