Been listening to a of Jazz this year, but mostly classics. Now digging into some new stuff. These two have been Guardian Jazz albums of the months recently. I enjoy them both, but especially Strange Heavens. I also went through this list and found some stuff I think I will enjoy, but haven't listened properly yet, so no specific recommendations as of yet from me. The Best Jazz Albums of 2025 (so far)
This is excellent too. I really enjoy it. It also has a cool story behind it: Jazz Album Review: Exactly on Time - Kenny Wheeler Legacy's "Some Days Are Better: The Lost Scores" - The Arts Fuse
This is great. Jazz covers of hip hop classics, but done properly and not just jazz musicians playing the sample over and over for 3 minutes. These tracks sprawl into their own thing and it works so well.
This is great. Nice mix of modern UK jazz and some classic jazz fusion. May be the best thing he's done.
loved this, agree I think its my fav of his it does kick ass very excited to dive into this it is daunting
Birthday presents. Both not available on streaming so I’m excited to add them to the collection. Midnight Sugar makes my system sound incredible.
Ever listen to T-Square? Easy listening-style jazz group from Japan; shit slaps. Came across a clip on Instagram and checked out their stuff further on Spotify. All great stuff
If they're anything like Casiopea, I'm sure i'll enjoy. Any jazz fusion/city pop stuff will always go down well.
