With the announcement of a new Jaga Jazzist album (and on Brainfeeder too!!), I've been revisiting them for the first time properly in about 10 years. Never realised how much they are, any I can't state this enough, my shit.

What a day for new jazz releases. Listened to Jeremy Cunningham this morning and it was pretty dark but really good. Also plan to check out new ones from Alabaster DePlume, Ross McHenry, Leo Takami, Alfa Mist, Collocutor, and Kassa Overall.

Was about to post the same thing haha. Looking forward to hearing the Kassa Overall, Alfa Mist and Alabaster DePlume releases.

Jeremy Cunningham has been releasing a song a week from his album and I think todays is the penultimate one. Pretty sure it's a 10 track album.

Thanks for the recs today, everyone. That Jeremy Cunningham record is great—listened a couple times since Wednesday when the label posted free download codes—but the Alfa Mist and Alabaster Deplume records have also made for some really nice listening this morning. Really liked some of the Kassa Overall record and wasn’t a fan of some of it, but I’ll give it another listen or two.

Played on A Love Supreme, my favourite jazz album of all time. Will give it a listen later.

Brutal. He still played occasionally and I really hoped to get to see him. A titan.

I’ve heard Expansions. Any recommendations on what to hear next from him as a leader?

New Shabaka & The Ancestors today, listened to about half this morning and it was really good as expected. Also looking forward to checking out the new Sam Gendel and the new tune by Dinosaur.

Anyone listened to the new Wilma Archer album? Only gave it a listen as I saw it had a MF DOOM feature, but it's really great. Lots of jazzy vibes, reckon a fair few will on here will enjoy. Also got features from Sudan Archives and Samuel T. Herring.
