I love when he's falling and screaming off the dam, just to turn around and see Jay and Bob hanging. His screaming turns into a whinny "hheeeeyyyyy" as the worst green screen effect I've ever seen happens. It falls in line though with:
“This is not bragging and this is not saying this makes me a better filmmaker by any stretch of the imagination, this is just for the layman to show you how far filmmaking and special effects have come from our childhood. We have three times as many visual effects/CG/visual effects in general in Jay and Silent Bob Reboot than they did in Star Wars.” The director goes on to explain that effects are different nowadays, so fans shouldn’t expect Jay and Silent Bob Reboot to be full of lasers and explosions. “Now, that doesn’t mean our movie is like, ‘we’re gonna take you to f****** space,’” Smith added. “It just means everything that counts as an effects shot. So, anytime we had people in a car, we didn’t do a process trailer, we didn’t put people in a car on top of a truck and drive the truck around. We just threw them on a green screen, or put them on a stage with a green screen behind them, and did the backgrounds later. Every one of those shots counts as an effects shot. So, I mean, even though it didn’t cost as much as blowing up the Death Star, they’re both visual effects shots at the end of the day, so when you just count them like that, we have three times as many as they had in Star Wars and we’re not even a visual effects heavy movie.” Redband trailer to drop at comic con.
I heard on a late night talk show that Kevin Smith was saying its releasing October 15th, but that sems off to me being as that is a Tuesday. So im guessing October 18th. Regardless, I will be there opening night just like I was for the original 17 years ago. On a side note, so bummed this sold out so quickly. Would have drove the 50 minutes and paid the $100 in a heartbeat Kevin Smith to Perform Live Reading of Unmade 'Clerks III' Script
oh man, for some odd reason I had high hopes but this trailer just shot them all down. Like super troopers 2 down. regardless, will still be eager to see it opening night
Red State doesn't get enough love. I'd put Dogma, Red State and Clerks 2 as his top 3. Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back following close behind.
For me I would rank as follows Mallrats (probably watched it 100 times between 1997-1999) Clerks JaSBSB Clerks 2 Dogma Cop Out Chasing Amy Jersey Girl never saw any of his later films like red state or yoga hoisers
Whoa, you should see Red State at least (Tusk and Yoga Hoisers aren't really good but entertaining). Red State was surprisingly suspenseful and really well executed, I had no idea Kevin Smith had that style in him. I wish he'd do it more.
