Went to the Dont Break Down premiere on Friday and managed to snag tickets to the show on Sat, absolutely unbelievable. The documentary is amazing, so many awesome little moments, plus managed to have the band sign my copy of the movie poster.
Been revisiting Dear You a lot recently. Solid album. I get why it got such backlash back in the day though. Unfun is still my all time favorite though. Unpopular opinion, I know.
Hmm, relatively short, I want to say they said 77 minutes? They did announce during the Q&A that after the screenings at the Alamo drafthouse in SF, and the couple they have planned in Chicago during Riot Fest , it will be going to a few other Alamo's around the country.
Never listened to this band until today. Listening through their albums from the start. Love how they just slide into jam sessions on their bridges.
When they do that on Netflix bivouac is one of the best moments of their discog. What are your impressions of them overall so far?
i'm still dying to see this doc, dammit! also, did anyone else see this weekend that Chris Carrabba and Matty from The 1975 went to a screening together? haha random.
Feels like a long overdue homecoming. The US "Digimon the Movie" soundtrack was my first introduction to punk music. I have a lot of memories as a kid jumping up and down on my bed and belting those songs. This shaped my taste in music towards punk and away from pop pretty early. Listening through Bivouac has made it apparent how most of the bands on that silly Digimon album and the bands I came to love first Taking Back Sunday, Brand New, The Used, etc were heavily influenced by Jawbreaker. Which song?
I'm still so bummed I missed Riot fest :((((( Working backwards with them today, on Bivouac rn. had a nice long walk with my dog and Dear You earlier
