Oh I just meant compared to if they were headlining a club show or whatever. They still played their full allotted time
anyway I was so in the moment I don't have much documentation of the ""reunion"" besides a couple photos I've already posted most of, but I think my wife videoed the coda of decoration day so might have to up that if it's listenable quality
Well it starts with one of my favorite songs of all time sung by one of my favorite voices of all time, did not disappoint shockingly!
My thought listening to the "Nightswimming" cover is that song is just one of the "un-cover-ables" for me. No slight against Jason, but there's just such a unique magic to that song that I've never heard anyone but R.E.M. capture.
It's enjoyable enough, but definitely lacks that clear simplicity in the circular riff that makes the original so singular
Fair enough, I guess I went in expecting no piano because I saw Thile and Fleck were on it Obviously doesn't have the same magic as the original as Craig put it but still loved it a lot
Too far lol. It's a Tuesday also. Definitely a pipe dream I've done the drive to Denver in one day before but I think it's like 11 hrsish (and that's with me driving too fast)
Yeah it's too hard for me to justify paying for a flight to CO when I can't make an outdoors trip out of it and take time off. It's too bad the show is in a month that is neither ski season nor mountain-climbing season...late April through mid June is that weird time in the Rockies where snow is melting so you can't ski and it's also not really safe to hike too high up without special gear Also have long wanted my first-ever RR show to be MMJ
yeah Denver is somewhere high on my list to visit and i'd wanna make my first trip there longer than literally flying in and out for a show for a day lol
Yeah either go in the winter or late July to early Oct imo. Spring in Colorado kind of sucks actually
Please just livestream both of your sets and Katie's too for those of us who can't make it, Jason I am BEGGING you
