The show last night was so good. It was my first show as an audience member (besides one drive-in show last year) since before the pandemic, and also my first time seeing Jason since the Something More Than Free tour. I really underestimated how cathartic it would be hearing "Hope the High Road" live.
Georgia covers record, called Georgia Blue, coming October 15, and to vinyl for Black Friday. Here's the tracklist: Nightswimming (featuring Bela Fleck, Chris Thile) Honeysuckle Blue (featuring Sadler Vaden) It's A Man's World (featuring Brittney Spencer) Cross Bones Style (featuring Amanda Shires) The Truth (featuring Adia Victoria) I've Been Loving You Too Long Sometimes Salvation (featuring Steve Gorman) Kid Fears (featuring Julien Baker, Brandi Carlile) Reverse Midnight Train To Georgia (featuring Brittney Spencer, John Paul White) In Memory of Elizabeth Reed (featuring Peter Levin) I'm Through Driver 8 (featuring John Paul White)
They're gonna start the record with Jason singing Nightswimming and expect me to be able to listen to the rest of it?? Not fair at all. All the guests look so good too. Steve Gorman himself on a TBC track is awesome
Can anyone else not hear this song? YouTube link says not available and it is on Spotify but the song is greyed out and won't play. Maybe it's just here in Australia? Weird.
Must be an Australian thing, that's a bummer. Jason often replies to ppl on Twitter who asks questions about stuff like that, maybe ask there?
Shoals Fest this weekend!!! Seeing Isbell &400U twice plus Amanda, DBT, Lucinda, Centromatic reunion and more When I say I am EXCITED...
He was awesome as always. Amanda's set earlier in the day was killer too. Everything about the fest has been great so far
WOW. Seeing Jason + Cooley + Hood do four songs together is something I'll never ever forget. And then beyond that, Jason's two sets (and DBT's abbreviated one) all sounded so so good and had all the energy of a hometown show. Truly an awesome experience Jason said "see y'all next year" at the end of night 2 so this is def gonna be a yearly thing. Highly recommend making the trek if you ever can PS--we had an amazing spot because we got there way early both days, but esp yesterday:
Yeah we're really grateful it worked out. My wife obviously loves Isbell too but y'all know how much Jason and DBT mean to me. This was about as good as it gets for me and concerts without time traveling lol
Just came up on my Timehop that the last time I saw him was four years ago today. Was supposed to catch him earlier this fall (rescheduled from last spring), but couldn't make it due to a variety of different factors.
Yeah it had been since July 2018 for us I think. Which isn't actually that long, but considering we saw him four times in a two year period before/after the release of Nashville Sound...
Oh shit, you know, I actually think it’s been five years since I’ve seen him, since the last show was before The Nashville Sound was out. Time flies, man.
