Some year we're gonna take a whole week off in October and go to every Ryman show, but it's not gonna be this year We'll have to make do with Shoals Fest instead
Good luck getting tickets to one show, much less all of them. Every time he does this all shows sale out within like 10 mins.
seeing these dudes on friday. first and probably last show back for a while. excited to hear these new cuts live
That's making me feel a lot better about our plans to go to his festival in Alabama the first weekend in October. Who knows what the covid situation will look like then but was starting to feel dicey about booking stuff for that trip
Tbh Billy Bobs is the absolute last place I would have imagined to be on board with that. They were still having/continued to have maskless shows like a month into the pandemic. I think they limited it to spaced out seating or something of that nature but still
Also isn't Billy Bob's indoors versus the previous outdoor venue at Panther Island? I'd almost rather be outside with no restrictions than inside with the vax/negative test restrictions. I feel like the negative test thing doesn't mean much when you could contract the virus between getting the test and arriving at the show.
I mean Kid Rock is playing 4 sold out shows there in another week so I dunno how much I trust the staff at Billy Bob's to really be "Covid-safe"
Someone in the replies to that tweet said they had heard BB was only doing it for this show at the request of the artist
If these unvaxxed assholes fuck up me hearing Overseas live three times this fall like I'm planning imma be pissed af that's all I'm saying. Glad Jason is trying to force venues to do the right thing
Venues/artists: “Not being able to tour is killing our industry. Help us get back to being able to do shows!” Also some venues/artists: “Nah, we aren’t willing to take the steps that could save us from another complete shutdown of live music.” I always knew people were stupid, but this pandemic has proven time and time again just HOW stupid.
Couldn’t have asked for a better first show back. Third time seeing them and they were so locked in playing. The back half of What Have I Done To Help with a guitar swap and giving the vocals to Sadler and Jimbo while Jason soloed for 4 minutes. Extended jam at the end of Last of My Kind. Fucking Overseas. Whew.
