I'm toying with the idea of shelling out for the distanced show in Iowa...but I dunno it just doesn't feel right to me to go to a concert still even if efforts are made to keep people safe.
Bought a ticket for the Iowa show - tried to do enough research and it seems safe. hoping the serotonin from the only show i'll have seen in 7 months, and will see through the end of the year, will get me through the Minnesota winter
bit the bullet and paid for the livestream. it was cool, only a little more than an hour and a half though. sound was reasonably good and wow the new songs rule live. I think I've been pretty consistently more pro-"What've I Done" than most folks but they really transcended the album version tonight
damn that's not an easy riff to play saw DBT on 10/20/2012 (35th anniversary of the plane crash) and it might still be the best show I've ever seen
Sitting in the freezing cold about to see them! If he doesn’t change it to THIS year that’s been a son of a bitch to nearly everyone we know I’m asking for a refund
first 5 songs of this record is the best stretch of any record jason's been a part of since first 5 songs on the dirty south high praise from me, a person who considers the first two isbell/dbt records among the greatest anyone's ever made
I actually think “What’ve I Done to Help” is his weakest song since his debut. I really dislike it. Starting with “Dreamsicle,” it’s classic Isbell, but his opening songs are always so perfect that this is really a disappointment. In my opinion.
I get why people would have that opinion but I have to strongly disagree. It is repetitive but I like how it slowly builds and it just sounds so good that it works for me. I enjoy listening to that song more than I enjoy "Vampires," flame away thread, flame away
This is your worst take of all time. "What've I Done to Help" has grown on me, though. Still think it was a weird choice for the second song to release from this album.
