I think he at one point mentioned he wrote other songs for the movie that weren't used? Is that what "Alabama Sky" is?

 

This would be my assumption.

 

I got the chills watching this dude listening to Jason for the first time

 

Thanks for posting this I really enjoyed it. The song really is one of a kind.

it's a great song and I like that demo of it he released last wk or whenever it was

 

I’d never heard it until I saw him play it live in September. That’s been awhile I guess, but I don’t know how common the knowledge was when the movie came out.

 

watch the damn movie, it's perfect!!!

 

I knew Isbell had some kind of involvement when I saw the movie and legit the minute he starts playing that song I just turned and was like "That's the Isbell song. I'll bet my paycheck".

He's just got such a distinctive style.
