Saw them last night with Spirit of the Beehive and Mannequin Pussy and if you don't catch them in your city you are fucking up real bad. Was especially curious how Spirit of the Beehive would translate, they did not disappoint at all, a lot of beauty in the noise. So good. Mannequin Pussy blazed through their set, crammed like 20 songs into a half hour and played a few new songs. I heard at least one guitar solo and the new stuff is real good and the old stuff is even more ferocious than it is on record. Japanese Breakfast killed it, saw them last on the Alex G tour and they've gotten even better since then, if that's possible. Don't miss this, might be the best tour this season

yup, this lineup is sick. spirit was fantastic live as well, and marisa is an incredible frontperson for MP

jane cum is forever the best live jbrekky song tho

 

oh my god I forget how heavy Jane Cum gets it's literally the heaviest song played by all three bands in a live setting. Michelle is clearly getting really comfortable with the front person role too, especially for songs where she ditches the guitar. She pulled a Conor from Foxing and went into the crowd for a bit which was fun

 

she's grown so much as a frontperson, some of the early shows i saw her she was way awkward but she's really taken charge

 

Damn j still have to wait a month but the hype is real

 

I don't remember if you had a preference for one album or the other but there was a p even split with slight favoring of the new songs. Hope you enjoy when it happens, def worth it

Saw them last night in LA. Michelle sounds incredible live, and is actually quite charming talking in between songs.

I don't know why I was so surprised to see so many Asians at that show.

Apparently Mitski was there? Michelle thanked her for taking them on that tour.

i've seen more and more stories of shitty sound dudes lately, not that it wasn't happening before but i'm glad people feel comfortable enough to speak up

 

There's a difference between shitty like bad and shitty like antagonistic shitheads

 

i mean shitty as in horrible dudes who think they're better than the women who happen to be on stage (if they even realize they're actually in the band and not "band girlfriends" like other horror stories i've heard)
