I'm dreaming of sax solos on this tour.

 

I think this is easily my current number one for the year. Every listen feels fresh.

 

I need to hear the closer live

 

I’m sure we’ll get it. I unfortunately think Slide Tackle is the one song we won’t get but I need it for my soul.

 

If I don’t get to see a whole crowd pop off to the end of Slide Tackle I will start a riot.

 

It’s the song she’s said she wasn’t sure about so I hope that doesn’t translate to the sets.

 

Really excited for the shows this Fall, and what the set lists could look like. Hoping “Slide Tackle” makes it on. Each album means some old songs get axed. Fingers crossed “Jane Cum” still makes the cut, i need that hollerin’ in a JB show. Also will be interested to hear what covers she busts out, she has such great taste.

On another note, i LOVE that she talked about Wilco’s “At Least That’s What You Said” as inspo for the guitar solo in “Posing for Cars.” Easily one of my favorite solos ever, and once I read that I could 100% hear the connection.

 

I’d initially thought ‘Paprika’ was my least favorite record opener of theirs (mostly due to how much i love the other two album openers), but i listened to it yesterday while walking around the neighborhood during twilight time and it clicked for me in a big way.

 

Yeah these new songs and the book and everything else are great, but will she ever top the Picture cover?

 

For me it’s on an entirely different plane from the other openers. I went back and listened to the first two albums and it’s amazing how this album really feels like an extension of them yet full of growth.

I listen to the album a couple times a day right now. It’s easily my favorite album this year so far and will be hard to top.

 

Paprika is one of the best songs I’ve heard this year.

I’m not discounting a surprise Bon Iver or The National album being a possibility for the end of the year but outside of those surprise releases, absolutely agree.

 

Curious to see what the Pitchfork review comes in at.

Past two have been 7.9 and 8.0. Easily see 8.5 or 9 for Jubilee.
