Knew this was going to be special when she announced it with "Be Sweet" and rest really meets the hype. Incredible opener and "Slide Tackle" has some really cool stuff going on. Front half strikes me as more immediate (this is definitely helped by having two of the singles) but it's really strong front-to-back and has a great flow. Immediately in my top 5 of the year.
Slide Tackle and Posing for Cars are probably my two favorites so far. Definitely feels like the biggest-budget/most cohesive record so far, and i feel like her singing has improved. Gonna need to listen a handful of times, but i suspect that this will be my favorite of hers. Probably gonna be my AOTY too.

Giving it my first listen now…I’m already in love. No regrets about buying tickets for that second October Chicago date. Slide Tackle is a fucking jam. Sit is fucking huge.
Slide Tackle might be her best song. Sit is my favorite Chvrches song in years lol EDIT:Heft, Body is a Blade, and Slide Tackle are the best song off each record IMO.
The first half of Posing for Cars reminds me of Adrianne Lenker and that “connection” between the first half of the song and the second half always makes me think of “In Twenty Years or So” by FJM[\SPOILER]
Yeah I’m curious if you can hear the FJM part since I remember you liking that album more than most. It’s subtle and it might just be my brain making weird connections but I swear it’s there hahaha
I really don’t want to wait a week to share this with all of my friends. Easily one of my favorite albums of the year.
