Finally got time to listen and really enjoying it. Alone in a hotel room drinking beer listening. Feels right.

i can feel this one based on general reaction and where the bands were at the points in their careers

 

I was really hoping my vinyl pre-order would be in the mail when I got home from work and it wasn't. Oh well, still exited to listen to this more. I think North East South West is probably my favorite after a few listens.

 

Yeah that's what I was going for. It's damn near impossible to follow up on a perfect record

This is pretty mediocre after one listen and I've been a huge fan since Post-Nothing. I'll have to listen to it more, but the arena rock production and more mid-tempo approach isn't jiving with me. Even the more energetic songs feel like hollow versions of their past work.

Arena rock. Lol. The differences between the sound of CR and this are not that drastic.

I like how you can hear the Canadian accent in "sorry" in "I'm Sorry (I Didn't Find You Sooner)".

Yeah I wish it was as big of a change that these reviews make it out to be honestly

 

I feel like there will be a lot of times where I play Celebration Rock and then listen to this immediately after, like two pieces of a double album.

 

sowthern makes me chuckle every time.

 

Is it supposed to be Suhthern? As a Canadian I definitely pronounce it the same way they do lol

 

It's differs regionally, but yeah, I say suhthern. I had a grade school teacher who said suthr'n.

 

On first listen I knew I liked this, but after listen number two I get the sense that this could be something that sticks with me for a long time and becomes pretty important to me over the course of the year. I can't really articulate what makes me feel that way, but it's a good feeling to have.

 

As a Canadian I say you're wrong.

I though it was just right, myself. Kept their essential identity, but just expanded the edges of it a bit.
