JANK Stream ‘Versace Summer’ EP

So much better than the LP, which was still pretty good. Still bummed out by the effect on Matt's voice

 

This band kills me. Such good song writing, wasted with nonsense lyrics. Makes me miss panucci's pizza.

I still hold that the little elephant session of Alligator is the best recorded version.

 

Yeah, that song got neutered by the aforementioned annoying vox effect

 

I must be in the minority. I think the vocal effects stands them out from other garage punk/emo bands.

 

I think it's Reuben's pink bass tbh...

It's no secret that I'm a huge JANK fan, but I think this EP is a phenomenal second outing for them. The nonsense lyrics rooted in such groove makes the music so much more fun to me. Plus, they're making music exciting again for so many. Kind-of surprised this stream dropped over a week before release though.

 

It's been frustrating hearing this album in April and waiting until the end of July to hear it but man is it worth the wait.
