the queen didn't have a thread yet somehow, new song Friday
Haven't listened to the new song yet but her 90s albums (and Rhythm Nation which came out at the very end of '89; close enough) are some of the best R&B albums of the past 30 years.
catchy song and fun video
fun track for sure
Her last one was a pleasant surprise. Not on par with legendary ones like Control or Rhythm nation, but that's an unreasonable expectation
Unbreakable was the biggest surprise of the year 2015. I only listened to the rest of her discography a few months ago, but it was the most I ever fell in love with someone's musical vision. She's truly one of the best artists of all time. This song and video doing this well while Timberlake is having an underwhelming era makes me so happy. I'm here for her resurgence.
why are this and Gaga at the same venue at different times
I was driving around and got tired of the CDs in my car, so I stopped at a Goodwill and bought The Velvet Rope on CD for 1€. I know this isn't news but that album is still incredible.
It's impressively ambitious. And almost all of it works.
Right. It’s so long too yet there’s no real filler.
A legit pop masterpiece
Welp, Unbreakable turned out to be one of my favorite albums of the decade so this one will be an AOTY contender at least
I'm so down for a new Janet album.
For some reason, both the articles and the tweets were deleted. A new single was confirmed for late this year as well as a new album early next year. Here's what was originally written in it:
I recently learned that I'm A Slave 4 U was supposed to be a Janet song
Together Again tour announcement has me revisiting Velvet Rope today. Still such a great record.
Looking forward to new music next year.
How would you guys rank her albums? I've been listening to Velvet Rope and love it but not sure where to go next.
