The movie was phenomenal. It's interesting when artists can tell a story with their album. I enjoyed Lights' similar project with her comic and album concept.
I haven’t been able to listen to the whole thing yet but I’m not gonna lie, I know a lot of people are pointing to Screwed as a highlight, but I was not a fan on first listen and it was entirely due to lyrics. Edit: reading the lyrics now, I guess it’s mostly just Zoe’s verse that bugs me? Idk me and my roommate were listening and they were even less into it than I was and commenting on it the whole time so it probably colored my experience. *shrug*
Yea I'd say Zoe's part is the only thing I would get the criticism for, I think Janelle is fine on it
All the features are so minor that I can’t imagine them even slightly coloring one’s experience with this excellent album
I guess they lyrics are corny but I don’t put much stock into lyrics. And they’re good, but a blast to sing along to
I just need to come around to Don’t Judge Me and So Afriad. They’re the 2 that are a tad bit lower than the others for me.
Oh good god damn I finally finished all the way and Americans was too good. The whole thing is too good. I don't really agree that the lyrics are that corny.
this is a good album definitely gonna spin more, but i think its going to be near the top at the end of the year why is pharrell singing about his urine
