grapefruit season

 

My wife heard this on the radio last week and said it wasn’t what she expected from him but I think it follows on quite logically from We Move.

 

For my personal tastes, this is shaping up to be my favorite album from him

 

yeah i’m quite excited for this, and i’ve only heard the all acoustic track

 

I’ve heard only the three singles before the album announce, I’m good til July but I know this is about to be amazing

 

This is pretty cool, with Jessie Ware and A Month of Sundays

 

Went to buy the album today but it looks like it’s been delayed until Sept 17th. Disappointed!

Was meant to be out today so I got it in line with the original release date

It's fucking brilliant, probably get one more single next month I don't know anything

new album is very enjoyable

 

Some instantly great songs. Some songs that I feel will grow on me.

 

Poison To You is probably my favourite JVM song since Post Tropical. His voice conveys so much emotion. Incredible.

 

Yeah that one is definitely a standout for the downtempo ones. I dig this album but it's definitely a bit stark how it starts so upbeat and poppy then for a long stretch in the middle it chills out, then ends with a mix of both. Not that either style is better than the other, but it makes for a bit of an awkward sequencing

This album completely passed me by, which is a shame as I downloaded it at the weekend and I am enjoying it quite a bit.

Doesn’t hit the heights of Post-Tropical or We Move, which are two of my favourites, but I definitely prefer the vibe to Grapefruit Season.

Did anyone else give Wide Open, Horses much time?

I’m still enjoying it, definitely worth giving it a go.
