Song is odd. I used to quite like JVM but I'm not sure leaning more electronically suits him or not, although Post Tropical was nice.

I do agree the new direction is interesting, could be a weird move. But personally, I never quite fell in love with the last album so I'm not opposed to it overall. We'll see

This. With cavalier being the single for the last record, can't help but find this song underwhelming. Ready to hear a new album though and approach it open minded

A very interesting voice timbre, good blend with this melody.

    I do not exist.

I absolutely loved Post Tropical. Intrigued to see if this reaches that level.

I like this album, and I like his last album, but nothing he's ever done has blown me away. He's not an artist I would describe as great, he's just good. Idk, he just always falls short of greatness for me, and based on my tastes I feel like I should like him more than I do. I genuinely do like his music but for whatever reason I just never have much of a desire to return to it.

    The rivalry is back on

This, more or less, describes how I feel about him too.

I love diverse tastes - I haven't really got into his first album or heard this new one but there was something about Post Tropical that completely captured me. He might not be a 'great' artist as someone above stated, but for me, that album is tremendous.

I agree with you kinda. I'm listening to this for the first time and I really do love it. I've never came back to his stuff much though.

IMO, his first is his best. This is really good though.

Dude sounds like Bon Iver singing Chet Faker now. This is ok.

    Meet me in Montauk

I completely agree. There's a few songs of his I find to be spectacular. Like Gold, but that's really it. You really hit the nail on the head. This never crossed my mind until you mentioned it. Seeing him live in October/November, hopefully his live performance changes my view
