yeah gonna echo TWINE had such promise and an interesting/compelling villain arc but the whole thing just fell on its face when denise richards came in.
i played the shitttt out of the N64 game too, which kinda keeps my overall fondness of that movie kinda high even though it is certainly in the lower tier of the movies.
there's this weird disconnect happening seeing Bond get the shit kicked out of him in a North Korean prison while one of the worst Madonna songs plays in the background
My theory is that the song is meant to be torturous to the audience so we feel a modicum of what Bond is going through.
Re-watched it last week and soundtrack to Goldeneye is hilariously dated. And the Tina Turner song is so clearly a bad U2 song.
Yeah but when she gets into that "youlllll nevvvver knowww" part and you got that jingly jangly sound going on in the background....*chefs kiss*
Just finished a run through of the majority of bond films while they were on Amazon. Here’s my unhinged bond actor power ranking. Moore ( love the camp, love the era his movies are set, I think of all the actors I like his run most. The only snoozer is for your eyes only, but I still like it) Craig ( the only one I don’t love is spectre. Got a soft spot for these. Casino is my all time favorite.) Dalton ( really love his portrayal. Wish he had more shots at it, but having two stellar outings makes it always fun to watch them.) Connery ( first 3 films are goated, the rest are pretty awful. Same as with Moore, I love the period they are set in. Im sure it’s blasphemy to put him this low, but I just think he really falls off and clear he stopped caring. Love the lore that Steven Spielberg wanted to do a bond movie and Lucas was all, let’s just make our own thing and they got Connery to be in the third one.) Brosnan ( jack of all trades, master of none. Lots of great moments and scenes but overall just a very uneven run) Lazenby ( story is great and the cinematography is awesome, but he needed more opportunities in the role) I really wish Christoper Nolan was directing the new one. As a longtime bond fan who has plenty of Easter eggs in his films and ideas for years that would have been such a rad way to usher in a new era. I think the only way to relaunch would be a period piece but with modern action and story beats. Im optimistic. If it’s another hard edged intellectual bond I think that will be too close to Craig.
I've mentioned this before I'm sure, but I saw this anime called Moriarty The Patriot that had the very cool and unexpected twist of having Irene Adler fake her death and change her identity, and she became "James Bond". Hollywood would never. Cowards.
Psyched for this game. Been on a break from gaming since finishing TOTK. This will be my next play through for sure.
