Been on a major Bond kick pre amazon dust up. IMO Christopher Nolan casting a bond and setting the tone would be a best case scenario moving forward. Just saw Oppenheimer for the first time and was blown away. Bezos ACTUALLY being a bond villain aside, i’m hopeful they get a killer team around future projects and it’s as good as some of the other amazon stuff. I’m a big Tolkien fan and loved season two of rings of power. I get the Broccoli crew seeing the craig era as their swan song and accepting a dump truck of cash to essentially retire.

Love Craig he’s probably my favorite, Dalton is amazing and really wish we had one more. Connery is iconic but I need to get through the rest, and rewatch before I can place them accurately. Lazenby is awesome but a little boring in parts. Moore has the highest highs and lowest lows for me, but his good ones are amazing. Brosnan is a great bond with mostly bad movies.

It’s infuriating there’s no easy way to watch the movies or there isn’t a reasonable way to buy the whole collection on digital. Apple has collections of all the actors, amazon only has craig, but it was on super sale recently.

Below is my current power ranking purely on enjoyment after the credits roll trying not to take into account general fan reception. Not through all of them, but getting close. The majority of the ones left will be first run through’s

i grew up with pierce as bond so i have mad nostalgia for his four films, are they the best bond films? who's to say but they are a ton of fun that's for sure!

She wanted to make an Aunt May movie, if that tells you anything.

 

Pretty sure she was also super racist in emails from the Sony leaks

 

She also had a hand in the first three Craig movies and has produced awards contenders like Challengers and Little Women. Not saying she’d be a great choice, but it could be worse I think. The Sony email stuff sucks though, obviously. Don’t know much about the other guy.

 

He's mostly connected to a certain wizarding world franchise.

 

I’m more interested in whoever is directing and starring. I’ll hold off any takes until that happens. This all seems to be about box office and distribution which i don’t care about if the movie rules.

 

This is about what gets made. These people could decide to make a Jimmy Bond spin-off amazon series about Bond's nephew in high school. People are worried about the standards these people hold because the Broccolis had strict standards for the franchise. Yeah, it's still best to wait and see what we get, but most of the worry is that they're going to start pumping out nothing but shit because they want an MCU for Bond.

 

i’ll reserve my judgements until I see what they come up with. The Broccoli’s ending on the Craig era was pretty killer. I’m really happy that they got to tell that story to completion. it’s hard to imagine how they would have proceeded after that run. Would have been nice if they got the next actor, era off the ground before not being involved, but i’m cautiously optimistic.

I also see the Movie series as its own sacred longstanding legacy and whatever else happens on streaming as another thing. I think i’d be more concerned if disney bought it. Some of the amazon streaming stuff has been killer. It’s still finding its footing vs being a decades long machine like some other movie companies.

They have endless cash to burn and if they get the right director and actor attached i won’t be too concerned about the movie legacy being tainted. I’m personally hoping for Nolan, but mostly curious to see what they come out with more than worried currently.
