My honest assessment is

 

All that matters is the execution. Franchises aren't inherently bad for running so long. You can reinvent anything as long as there's passion and creativity behind it. I'm always down for a reimagining of a beloved thing as long as it's actually different.

this is dire, man. i've always been more of a casual bond fan, but i still appreciated that how the broccolis maintained things. and the last one seemed to suggest some type of way forward for the franchise too. absolutely sucks all around

 

I grew up watching bond with my dad so it’s always been important to me and this shit sucks.

 

Same for me and my dad... We didn't really got along in general for many reasons but the rare times we ever got along is when we watch a Bond film on TV or watching the latest Bond film in the cinema on opening weekend so yeah this news sucks unfortunately

 

I went from hoping Josh O'Connor was an actual contender to play Bond to hoping he goes nowhere near this so fast after seeing the news.
