Fukunaga rules, so I'm sure it'll at least be good though, no matter what.

Wonder if they’ll kill off Bond in this one and then finally work in the theory about James Bond being a code name for the next actor to take over the franchise. Like they decide to do it in memory of him.

Didn't Boyle leave because they wouldn't let him kill Bond?

never liked that theory personally, so I hope they never go that route.

that isn’t a theory. it’s literally a scene in casino royale lol. it’s canon.

No clue honestly, just thought it would be a fitting way to send Craig off

It's definitely going to be interesting how they end it, because they can't just have him retire because that's the end of Spectre really haha.

I mean, it explains so many things about this world, chief among them being why the world's greatest secret agent constantly gives his actual real name out to everyone he meets. I was really bummed when Skyfall killed that theory.

    I guess so?

totally fair for anyone who likes that idea, and honestly if they ever did go that way it's not like it's a dealbreaker of a plot device for me haha.

I guess for me bond has just always been so unrealistically arrogant and "super agent" that he can do those things. the movies as we know them definitely play fast and loose with continuity from film to film haha.

I appreciated the idea that they tried to connect the Daniel Craig films even if it was in ways forced and didn't work as well haha. but what intrigued me about that was if the next actor they just go into it with the idea that each actor can have their own connected arc outside of the other films, that could be interesting. I also wouldn't mind just going back to one off films and not worry about making them traditional sequels.

I'm very interested to see where they go from here. I still wouldn't be mad about them stripping it down, redoing the books and going back to the cold war haha. maybe as a premium series or films. except ya know, less racism than the books haha. oof, Live and Let Die was an interesting read haha.

sorry that was a lot haha

Yeah I mean I understand that I need to suspend disbelief for a lot of continuity things, like Judi Dench being M for both Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig, or Roger Moore also having been married to a woman named Tracey who died. I can accept that that's just the nature of the franchise and what the Broccolis or whoever intend it to always be. I just like the idea that "James Bond" is attached to the 007 designation because it allows for all of the movies to have taken place in the same world despite the Cold War no longer being a thing and modern Bond's using more tech and stuff. Instead, each actor's tenure is just its entirely own contained world which is fine but just a little less interesting for me.

Also I really just want Ralph Fiennes to stay on as M for the next Bond as well.

that is definitely something I'm potentially sad about is losing the great side characters after Daniel Craig leaves, because I really enjoy them all.

He really has had such a great supporting cast throughout his four movies.

now this would be a really interesting plot direction I think. I mean, he left MI6 as far as we know at the end of Spectre, so why wouldn't they replace him. (edit: you gotta click the tweet to see the second part of his statement)

also this -- makes me so damn happy haha

I'm so psyched for this to be a Bond/Leiter movie. Jeffrey Wright's Felix is fantastic and I was always bummed he disappeared after Quantum.

That title seems clickbaity - what i took from it is that they still arent completely happy with their script so theyre bringing in new people/ideas - you could call that a shitshow i guess, but it seems extreme.

That said, based off the poor reception of spectre and craigs comments about cutting his wrists rather than playing bond again - theres very little chance people were going to go into this with a positive outlook anyway. And throw production rumors into the mix, this sounds like ‘Solo’ all over again.

Good thing Solo was awesome tho.
