A shame I don't get excited for new James Blake anymore. Dude needs to get weird again.

I’ve grown to really love this album

 

Before definitely scratches the itch for "getting weird" but this album is pretty solid too

I can see why the name Kanye West might still hold some esteem in the production world but…it really shouldn’t

 

Would not be shocked if James ends that relationship quickly after the shirt dropped. Doesn’t seem like him to continue work with that man.

 

James isn't dumb, he should have IMMEDIATELY posted a redaction or denouncement on twitter. Silence is pretty embarrassing after posting a ton of tweets in a row, he's clearly not "off social media" or anything

 

I haven’t seen his twitter posts but I agree with you there. He should denounce it but I wouldn’t be shocked if he just stayed silent and didn’t work with him anymore.
Would be shocked and very disappointed if he continued to work with him. Don’t think his GF would be cool with it either.

 

Yeah, what I was getting at is the tweets which I posted in this thread happened the same day that Kanye wore the shift. James posted a ton of tweets (as you can see above) during the event but then just... stopped posting it seems

 

No, those tweets came in September, the shirt was worn yesterday.

 

oh wow, you're totally right. I saw this article: Kanye West Plays James Blake Collaboration, Wears “White Lives Matter” Shirt at Paris Fashion Week Show then went to his twitter, and just assumed it was the same day. My bad!

 

Regardless, I think he needs to say something. Even if Kanye hadn’t worn the shirt, no one should be collaborating with the man because of his antics over the past few years. Also, if Kanye wearing a “White Lives Matter” shirt is crossing the line to people (who work with him and may stop after this or still supported him) and not…his harassment of his ex wife (publicly!) and her ex boyfriend, his ex wife’s mother and other siblings, other musicians (Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift), his collaborations with shitty people after they were outed as horrible people (Manson, DaBaby), many outlandish remarks, etc. then I don’t know what to say. He has made it very clear that he is a horrible person and is not someone that should be given any sort of friendship from people like James Blake.
