Definitely a huge standout for me

 

So this is seemingly the development of the Overgrown sound I'd been waiting for and I absolutely love it. Fucking hell this is great.

 

Finally listened to Mike High and WHOOO TOMORROW IS gonna be FYRE

 

Wheres The Catch > I'll Come Too > Power On

...like that fucking run of songs right there is everything

 

This album is flawless.

 

the barefoot in the park - can’t believe the way we flow - are you in love? stretch is beautiful. stunning record.

 

If anyone is feeling Barefoot in the Park and hasn’t heard Rosalía’s record from last year, it must be heard

 

I haven’t loved a James Blake album this much since the self titled.

This one may be better.

Barefoot in the Park is the most perfect thing.

 

This is far more streamlined and nowhere near as out there but IMO it works wonderfully and also makes for a perfect winter album. Seriously can’t wait for it to snow so I can have this on repeat and just drink all of the wine.

 

Yep, it’s nothing like the revelation of the s/t but I’d say it’s just as good, just more palatable

I’d be shocked if this doesn’t wind up in my top 5 for the year. There’s not a single song I don’t love.

 

There's something to be said about the fact that Andre 3000 doesn't do a ton of music anymore, but every verse he REALLY goes for it. I can't think of any of his verses from the last few years that hasn't been top of his game

I’ll Come Too is some modern crooner shit

 

It's very good. But whenever I come away from a first listen of a James Blake album, i'm always somewhat disappointed. There's always a part of me that hopes that he goes full on weird and abandons singing, or limit it at least. My favourite stuff of his has always been his instrumental stuff and I always just want more of that.

This will grow on me just like all his stuff, but there'll always be that nagging feeling in the back of my head that wants his weird side to come back out.
