this will be my last solo EP (under the jake jenkins name) for a while, at least a year and a half if not two years. don't expect a new jake jenkins solo release until 2019. until then, i'll be collaborating as jake jenkins with several different people, including other producers and hopefully some reappers. im going to start my sophos project as well as pick back up phortress, my ambient/drone project. i think its time for me to lay the beat making down, or at least not keep it at the forefront, and explore new avenues so i can grow as a producer and musician.

Read the thread this replies to. Kind of tying up a long chapter of my life with this EP. Seems like a fitting ending to its two predecessors

Thank you! A certain old ap poster from Chicago (but now located in NY) is in the process of remixing constant threat. Actually he posts on chorus from time to time to. No more hints!!!!

Funny thing about nothing without her is I had that melody and basic beat made in July and she heard it on her initial visit and was like wow that's the best thing I've heard you make so I didn't even touch it til now and decided to make it a song just for her cuz she's my everything

I've been busy lately but I finally got a chance to listen to this thing in full! Current favorite song is "Relieve the Pain" because the soundscapes you make really do show the emotions you were feeling while creating this project. I'm also still really into "My Own Devices" and the interlude was really cool as well, felt like it's own song. I have no idea how you come up with the stuff you do but it's brilliant, great project overall. It's 8:30am right now though and I have a feeling this would hit a lot harder with the sun down

    THANKS EVERYONE!!!

    repost from home recording thread:

alright i wanted to make room on my soundcloud because im too lazy to dish out money for pro, i rounded up all the beats i made in 2016 and put them on bandcamp as a mixtape just to have in one place. and in case anyone in here never heard some or any of them, here they are. i worked hard in 2016 and really tried finding and evolving my sound and just growing which is why i never made a proper project, but as a mixtape all these beats are pretty good together. in each track description i put the month it was recorded, youll notice a gap in may and june as i was falling off the deep end lol but i came back. anyway all the sounds here are what led me to my latest EP, which i think is the culmination of everything ive ever done and my best work yet but some of the beats here are just as good if not better so yeah, wanted to make sure these were still out there to show people while making room on my soundcloud. download is free
