His voice sometimes reminds me of the guy from Name Taken, but the overall sounds of the bands don't really compare.

there is something familiar about this yet it feels so fresh.

had this on on my run this morning and totally was thinking this sounds like a mix of swellers/name taken. cool to see i'm not the only one.

 

This is so good. I don’t really listen to much pop punk adjacent stuff anymore but this particular vein of it just hits a sweet spot for me. No bad songs but Spinning through On The Run is a particularly great sequence.

Hey I really like this. Counter intuitive is killing it this year with this and Origami Angel.

 

I don’t know what “it” is, but these guys certainly have it. This record just feels so much more... composed than a lot of others in this lane. Real hooks and effective play with dynamics. Kinda reminds me of the underrated late DTR/Rushmore bands like Day At The Fair. Looking forward to where they go from here

 

This band feels more like it's trafficking in that 2010-2013 sound to me, although way better than pretty much all of those bands except for, like, The Wonder Years.

 

finally get to this. its fun but its kinda samey. maybe it needs more than a single listen

 

I think you’ll like it - reminds me a lot of what I miss from The Swellers or Pentimento. Or that one Better Off record before I stopped listening to them

 

i definitely get swellers vibes at points

 

swellers and name taken. actually just finished a run through it and i think its one of the best things this year.

Was trying to figure out who the vocals remind me of, especially in the shoutier moments, and it’s knuckle puck

 

I was thinking polar bear club on death chorus

 

He hits some notes and it reminds me of Cove era Saosin oddly enough.

I really like this entire album except Spinning. Feels like it doesn't fit on the album to me.
