New music out early next year and a new album likely out next year too. CFOX Chats With Jade Bird About Drinking Saké & Offering Fans Her Demos on Cassette
They haven’t had a hit since Ophelia a few years ago, but some of their newer songs from their latest album have gotten over a million views on YouTube (maybe Spotify too, not sure) and last time they came to Chicago they played an 11,000 capacity venue so I think they still have a decent fan base.
Technically the last time they played Chicago was Saturday at the Vic, but that was like a "special" radio show so I digress. Doing 2 nights at allstate though and one is fully sold out already so they're not hurting.
New tour dates + playing new music on said tour. Really want to hit up the Milwaukee date but I don't have a car or drive so RIP me.
Seems like from what she said in the first video it’s coming out later this year. Kind of insane that she’s releasing a follow up just a year after her debut but I’m definitely not complaining!
She's playing a mental health awareness show with American Authors, The Mowgli's, and Toth in New York in May.
She’s doing a livestream in about an hour and fifteen minutes. I’ll try and record it for those who can’t watch.
tl;dw: - New album out in fall 2020 or spring 2021 - New album is fully written/was written earlier this year while she was in Japan - Brand new song performed plus one of the songs she debuted live recently - New music coming soon
Wow she covered Estelle's "American Boy" and Shania Twain's "Man! I Feel Like A Woman" and they were great, felt like the perfect songs for her to cover.
